Thank you for pointing out how we can misuse our understanding of the Bible. The narrow-minded and self-righteous doctrines have discredited Christ's teaching to numerous thinking persons. The closed-minded teachings are used by many as a theological club to bludgeon others who disagree, driving many well-meaning and thoughtful Christ followers away from the church.
